The 2020 gala is currently postponed due to Covid-19
The Mindful gala 2020 has been postponed until further notice due to Covid-19. We cannot wait to be able to announce our new date!
Westview Events and Florals is proud to host the second annual Mindful gala on April 18, 2020 at Flamborough Hills Golf Club.
The gala presents an intimate event to honour those in the Hamilton area that suffer from Mental Illness. The funds raised from the event will be given to The LOST Organization, which is a non-profit registered charitable organization that supports people living with mental illness. They provide peer support services for people with mental health-related issues and illnesses. Though many other mental health resources exist in the city of Hamilton, they are often accompanied by long wait times and high costs, which detours people from receiving the care they deserve. To eliminate this problem, LOST is proud to offer all of its programs free of charge, including same-day service that people can access immediately. The LOST Organization is utilized by hundreds of members who rely on its services to maintain their mental wellbeing.
On the evening of the gala, guests will be offered the opportunity to listen to speakers from the Hamilton area who have either suffered from Mental Illness, or work in the Mental Health field. There were live musical performances, a DJ, a silent auction, hors d'oeuvres and beverages for guests to enjoy.
Mental Illness is a cause very close to Westview’s heart, with both owners either having lost loved ones to the illness, or having close family members who suffer on a daily basis. We truly want to bring awareness to the programs available to those who suffer and hope to be able to make a substantial donation to The Lost Organization to enhance their programs
On August 17, 2018 Westview hosted the first Mindful gala at the Lincoln Alexander Centre, in Hamilton, Ontario. The event raised $13,000 for True Experience in honour of Denise Rigby and Daniel Tonaj.
True Experience, which is a non-profit registered charitable organization that supports people living with Mental Illness. True Experience supports people holistically with a three prong approach: supportive housing, community work program, and social recreation. The donation from the Mindful gala was put towards purchasing a new home to help those who suffer from Mental Illness. This house is a transitional home, for those who no longer require full time care, and want to reintegrate into society, but have nowhere to go to do so.
