On  August 17, 2018 Westview hosted the first Mindful gala at the Lincoln Alexander Centre, in Hamilton, Ontario. The goal of the gala was to present an intimate event to honour those in the Hamilton community that suffer from Mental Illness. The funds raised  from the event went to True Experience, which is a non-profit registered charitable organization that supports people living with Mental Illness. True Experience supports people holistically with a three prong approach: supportive housing, community work program, and social recreation.

We offered guests the opportunity to listen to speakers from the Hamilton area who have either suffered from Mental Illness, or work in the Mental Health field. There were live musical performances, a DJ, a silent auction, hors d'oeuvres and beverages for guests to enjoy.

We were able to raise $13,000 for True Experience in honour of Denise Rigby and Daniel Tonaj, which was put towards purchasing a new home to help those who suffer from Mental Illness. This house is a transitional home, for those who no longer require full time care, and want to reintegrate into society, but have nowhere to go to do so.

Mental Illness is a cause very close to Westview's heart, with both owners either having lost loved ones to the illness, or having close family members who suffer on a daily basis. We truly want to bring awareness to the programs available for those who suffer and hope to be able to continue to  make a substantial donation to the cause.

The next gala will be hosted in March 2020. Details are currently being determined. To sponsor the next event, please link on the link below:
